Jingle
Jingle
2 weeks before Christmas you may get a letter from Jingle. Jingle is a reindeer wearing a Santa outfit who shows up at 8 PM on Christmas Eve (December 24th) and gives a present to the players. He departs from the town at 12 AM, four hours later, though if he is nearby when the town bell rings he can still hand out a present until you move away.

Jingle usually only gives out one present per character, but players can trick him by changing their accessory in order to receive more. Changes that work include hats, glasses, masks, flowers*, the character's hairstyle, and designs (used on either a hat or an umbrella). Wear a hat with several different glasses works. Changing shirts does not have any effect. Additionally, Jingle does not have an infinite memory - it appears he can only remember back a certain number of accessories, apparently about 10 - and any that were used beforehand can be re-used. Though sometimes he mentions you look like somebody he saw previously (you).

He can either be found outside, or inside an unlit villager's house (the one time each year where players can enter a unattended villager house). Jingle will usually, but not necessarily, change locations between handing out gifts and may be in the same location multiple times. Players must leave the current location between encounters in order to receive another gift.

The Jingle Wall and Jingle Carpet can be requested. The remaining ten items are randomly selected. On average it takes 29 gifts to get all ten items. On a computer simulation for 1,000 different tests you may be lucky enough to get all ten in 11 tries; if unlucky then around 100 tries and on average 29 tries.

The gifts he hands out are pieces of furniture from the Jingle Series. These cannot be ordered from Tom Nook's catalogue, but they can be sold to him for 12,240 bells. This is a play on the date you receive them; they contain the digits "12" (December) and "24" (24th).

So long as he does not recognize you from a previous encounter, Jingle asks the player two questions. The contents of the present he hands out are dependent on their answers.

You can repeat the present receiving process as many times as you want if you save and quit every ten times.

*If you talk to Jingle with a red rose and then a yellow rose, for example, he will not give a present the second time. In order for flowers to work as a disguise, you must use different kinds of flowers (One example would be pansies then tulips then cosmos, etc).
